This steroid was actually discovered in the early sixties in East Germany. Because it is highly anabolic while having fairly low androgenic properties, it became very popular. In fact, it may have been the main drug used by East Germany when steroids were secretly given to athletes in expectation of winning the Olympic Games. Of course, this is not a pretty time in East German history.
Turanabol is considered to be of the same family as the steroid methandienone. The results are similar to other steroids of this class, but there is not a bloating problem connected with it. This is because Turanabol does not aromatize so that there is not an estrogen buildup. Estrogen buildup is one of the biggest components to bloating problems in other anabolic steroids.
Bodybuilders who use this steroid feel that there is an excellent gain in strength, while there is a minimal gain in the muscle mass. For this reason, it is often used to give a cycle a boost at the beginning, or a jump start. Becauuse it is an oral steroid, the effects are quickly seen and are considered to be fast acting. This allows the athlete to quickly experience gains during the beginning of a cycle, while other injectable steroids that are usually used take time before they take effect. Using both types of steroids together allows a quick start and a longer lasting build. It can be stacked with nearly any other steroid compound quite well and helps to lower the SHBG in the body, which can actually make other compounds more effective, thus giving them an additional boost.
As with many Dragon Pharma products, Turanabol can be used during both the bulking and cutting cycles. It is also quite often used as a bridge between the cycles. Often, if nothing is used between the cycles, there can be a total crash and a loss of gains made during the cycle. A low dose of Turanabol can be used in between cycles to prevent that crash and to help maintain the gains.
It is important to realize that because this is an oral steroid, it can place a certain amount of stress on the liver. This makes it very important that the user not increases dosages above reasonable rates. It is also suggested that the cycles of using this oral steroid be kept to no more than 8 weeks.
Because of its low androgenic properties, many female bodybuilders find that Turanabol is an excellent steroid for building strength and improving muscle mass. It does not have as many incidences of masculizing side effects as other anabolic steroids that have higher androgenic properties.
